Webflow Features & Pricing Overview

What makes Webflow stand out when compared to sites such as Wix and Weebly is that it boasts numerous customization options. In fact, based on the tests I’ve conducted with other site builders, Webflow stands out as the most customizable site builder in the market. Whilst Webflow boasts a myriad of features in its entire plan, the depth of each feature option varies by plan.

Webflow offers a free trial along with two paid plan options. However, the paid plans don’t offer a free trial period. The paid plans are available as Site and Account plans. The Free plan simply allows you to build a site, design it, and have CMS control. The paid plans on the other hand allow you to do more.

With the Site plan, you can connect your custom domain, invite collaborators, and enable check out on ecommerce stores. The Account plans allow you to add more projects, unlock code export, add your won logo, and create a team dashboard for more project collaboration. Each plan also has a varying price range to cater to all needs – whether you are an individual or have a large enterprise-level business.

Free Plan

The free plan has zero costs and requires no credit card information. Using this plan, you will still enjoy several useful features. Amongst these features include designing and publishing up to two projects, full design control, 100 hours of tutorials, and publishing to Webflow.io.

Site Plan

If you want more freedom, the paid plans are a better option. The Site plan comes in a choice of site plan option (for personal sites, blogs, and business sites) whilst the Ecommerce Site plan allows for check outs on your domain. The site option offers four tiers, i.e. Basic, CMS, Business, and Enterprise.

The Basic plan costs only $12 per month is ideal for simple sites that don’t need CMS. The CMS plan costs only $16 per month and is ideal for a blog or other content-driven sites. The Business plan is best for a higher traffic marketing site or blog and costs only $36 per month. The Enterprise plan offers more exclusive features and its pricing is rather customizable.

The Ecommerce Plan on the other hand offers the Standard, Plus, and Advanced Tiers. The Standard tier costs about $29 per month and is perfect for new businesses starting up. The Plus plan costs $74 per month and is best for higher volume businesses that require additional features. The Advanced tier costs $212 per month and is perfect for scaling and reaching new heights in your online business. However, to enjoy these rates, you need to commit annually – if you choose to pay monthly, you will pay an extra 15% for each plan.

Account Plan

The Account Plan comes in a choice of Individual and Team plans. Individual plan features three pricing tiers, i.e. Starter, Lite, and Pro. The Starter plan is free and gives you everything you need to build with Webflow. The Lite plan costs $16 per month and allows you to export your code and unlock more pages for your unhosted projects. The Pro tier costs $35 per month and is perfect for active freelancers and designers who need more projects and premium features.

The Team plan allows you to collaborate with other team members from a shared dashboard. The plan features the Team and Enterprise tier. The Team tier costs $35 per month. The Enterprise tier has a more customizable pricing plan and allows you to customize your site and features more as you collaborate with other team members. Similar to the Site plans, to enjoy these rates, you need to commit annually – if you choose to pay monthly, you will pay an extra 15% for each plan

Alternatives To Webflow

Webflow has stood out to me as a feature-rich tool; allowing you the customization freedom you want. Yet, the tool may still lack several features you will find on other platforms. I’ve added three of my recommended Webflow alternatives to help you find the features you might miss out on Webflow.

  • Wix’s All-In-One Design – The most prized Wix design is perhaps its all-in-one design – allowing you to register a domain, design your website, host it, and even create your business logo. You don’t have to invest in different fragmental tools to get the full product. However, Wix users suffer from three main limitations. The Wix templates are not transferable, to change your design you have to reupload content. Furthermore, transferring from Wix to another platform requires you to manually transfer your content. If you want to grow your site and add more features, you may have to pay a hefty amount.
  • Squarespace’s Ease of Use – Squarespace is perfect for beginners and those who lack coding knowledge thanks to its intuitive, simple, and easy-to-navigate interface. Thus, you can create the most beautiful designs using the platform. However, the limitation is that the platform is not scalable – it is not the best option for large and complex sites. Squarespace has a minimum cost of $12 per month for the Personal plan, $26 per month for the Business Plan, $26 per month for the Basic Commerce plan, and $40 per month for the Advanced Commerce plan.
  • WordPress’s Open source and PHP-based Content – Thanks to this design, WordPress offers incredible flexibility to bring your site to life. This makes it easy even for beginners to use the platform and curate a uniquely designed site. Plus, compared to Webflow, WordPress is extremely affordable – offering a free plan and basic plans that are as low as $9.99 per month.

The Webflow pricing is curated for all types of users – whether you are an individual, a budget-strapped startup, or a large enterprise-level business. Plus, the site comes with the advantage of superior customization to create your site the way you want it to be.

The free plan’s availability on the other hand also works best for individuals who to try out the platform or simply want to take advantage of its basic features – if they don’t mind the Webflow.io domain label. Nonetheless, Webflow has its limitations when it comes to the learning curve. The site may not be as easy to adapt to for every user. Plus, its pricing plans aren’t the cheapest in the market!
